ABOUT OSC

Are there Organic Soy Candles?

OSC [and Ducky] is simply about educating the public in regards to the truth in labeling and marketing of Organics, and in attempting to stop false claims by a number of web sites marketing “Organic Soy Candles”.

Soy Candles are not Organic, Candles are not Organic although they may contain Organic Ingredients.  Candle companies that market Organic Soy Candles are not only misleading valued consumers, the claims are erroneous and are false advertising.

OUR SUPPORTERS

Our mission is to educate consumers about falsely advertised organic soy candles, to encourage candle companies to reassess their advertising and stop marketing Organic Soy Candles, and to encourage soy candle makers towards using appropriate terms, such as; Natural Soy Candles, Pure Soy Candles, and Non-Genetically Modified Soy Candles when using soy was from non-genetically modified soybeans. Our mission is also to increase the interest needed to strengthen efforts in shaping the alternative private industry standards.

Companies that falsely lable and advertise Organic products to trick customers into believing they are purchasing an actual organic product, are extremely damaging to the integrity of true organics.

As consumers ourselves, we are concerned by the growing number of companies  and web sites claiming to have organic products when many contain ONLY one organic ingredient, or actually - none at all. This is a growing problem and is very destructive to the Organic Industry. Laws need to change, it is evident right below, highlighted in yellow - demonstrating our current lack of laws.

Currently, organic consumers and producers of truthfully labeled organic personal care products, have no remedy under federal law with respect to these untruthful and misleading practices. They must look to state law remedies and/or efforts to shape alternative private industry standards.

Certification is to protect consumers from misuse.

In supporting organic farmers and truth in labeling, companies advertising to sell Organic Soy Candles just to make money do not benefit our organic farmers,  and they  falsely trick customers into believing they are purchasing an actual organic candle. Not only very deceptive, it is very damaging to the integrity of true organics.

The old cliche is very true, "people only do what they get by with". Because of that, our mission at Organic-Soy-Candles is to help educate consumers when they are wanting to purchase legitimate Organic Candles. Also this site is for chandlers wanting to market their candle line of Organic Palm Wax, or Organic Beeswax, and Natural Soy Candles with or without Organic Ingredients.

I have always been intrigued and drawn to the creativity in advertising and product marketing, and the psychology involved in successful marketing. Making an honest dollar has also been my belief, knowing I have happy repeat customers who readily refer me to their friends and colleagues. Not making my income lying or cheating to my customers. Impulse buying will always be present, and finding truth in sales is  rare and precious.

Years ago I worked a short-time for a company  whose only goal was the sale at hand, not the future business they could have had they have taken care of their customer, which invariably they lost each time from poor customer service, deception and over priced product and shipping.  The owner of the company could not see past his nose when it came time to make money, he would get so excited he would get into my face and say "charge them double for shipping", and add $$ for this and for that, and don't forget to tack on this charge for that other thing he would add. He never realized how much money he actually was losing with that greedy mentality. He did not care how the customer felt. Greed was his middle name. Is false labeling any different?

My goal in life is to make a difference, and as I go I try to make little differences to people that matter. If I buy an Organic Candle or another Organic product, I want to know it is an actual Organic product, not just a printed label that means nothing. I have a very hard time believing you want anything different. Like many, my money is tight right now, and if I bless a company with my hard earned money I want to know that my money is rightfully spent.

As consumers we need to know that there are companies out there that also believe as we do, in truthful advertising.  If you believe in the truth and you strongly believe in your natural candle company or other organic company, and you would like to join our cause, add your site. Knowledge is Power, and Power is in Numbers - - I am just one little little fish in a big ocean working to spread a very big message and stop a huge and growing problem.
